Between the 1st April 2004 and 1st April 2006 the electrical installation industry was subjected to cable core colour changes as part of harmonising with Europe. During this period your installations may have been carried out in either colour system but not both.

Where we connect into an existing system there will be a mismatch of colours, which will be marked with colour sleeves and identified with core labels, L1, L2, L3 and N.

Warning

Installations may have wiring colours to two versions of BS7671. Great care should be taken before undertaking extension, alteration or repair that all conductors are correctly identified.
